About the 2020–2022 Super Duty
2020 was a powertrain year for the Super Duty, and that is why this manual covers exactly these three model years. The old 6.8L V10 was gone, replaced by the 7.3L “Godzilla” pushrod gas V8, and behind both it and the 6.7L Power Stroke sat the new 10R140 ten-speed automatic. A 2019 truck is a different machine underneath — six-speed, different gas engine — so the two do not share a manual.

What’s inside
Engine mechanical and management for all three engines, the diesel fuel and aftertreatment systems, both automatic transmissions, the transfer case, driveline and axles, brakes with anti-lock and trailer brake control, steering and suspension, climate control, restraints, emissions, the body and its closures, and the full electrical system with wiring diagrams and connector information throughout.
Common issues this manual helps you tackle
- High-pressure fuel pump failure — the big one on the 6.7L diesel: the injection pump can fail and send metal debris through the entire fuel system, which is why the repair is never just a pump. The diesel fuel system sections cover the high-pressure pump, rail, injectors and the tank and line flush the job requires.
- Ten-speed torque converter damper fracture — recalled on 2020 trucks, causing stall and loss of drive. The transmission sections document the torque converter and the fluid and debris flush that must follow.
- Harsh reverse-to-drive engagement — sticking main control valve body valves or failed input and output shaft seals, typically with no fault codes stored. The transmission sections carry the valve body, the shaft seals and the clutch break-in and relearn procedures.
- Underbody heat shield contacting the driveshaft — a loosened insulator can wear an aluminium driveshaft until it fractures. The driveline and underbody sections cover the shaft, the centre bearing and the shield fasteners.
- Low-pressure fuel pump stall on the gas trucks — the in-tank pump can fail without warning. The gasoline fuel system sections document the tank, the pump module and the delivery system.

Frequently asked questions
Does it cover the 7.3L gas V8?
Yes — the Godzilla engine is documented alongside the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel and the 6.2L gas V8.
Does one manual really cover F-250 through F-550?
Yes. Ford documents the Super Duty range as one platform, and the manual is written that way, with the differences called out where they exist.
Will it fit my 2019 truck?
No. 2019 used the 6R140 six-speed and the 6.8L V10 rather than the 10R140 and the 7.3L, so it needs the 2017–2019 manual.
Are wiring diagrams included?
Yes — wiring diagrams and connector information run through the electrical sections.
Which years does it fit?
2020, 2021 and 2022.
