About the 2017–2019 Super Duty
2017 brought the aluminium-bodied Super Duty on a fully boxed frame, and these three years are a clean mechanical set: the 6.7L Power Stroke, the 6.2L gas V8 and the 6.8L V10, all behind the 6R140 TorqShift six-speed. When the 7.3L gas V8 and the ten-speed arrived for 2020, that era ended — which is exactly where this manual stops.

Engine mechanical and management for all three engines, the diesel fuel and aftertreatment systems, the TorqShift transmission, transfer case, driveline and axles, brakes with anti-lock and trailer brake control, steering and suspension, climate control, restraints, emissions, body and closures, and the electrical system — with 558 wiring diagram references and more than 7,000 identified connectors for real electrical diagnosis.
Common issues this manual helps you tackle
- Seat belt pretensioner fire risk — over half a million Regular Cab and SuperCab trucks were recalled after pretensioner deployment could ignite B-pillar trim. The restraints and body sections cover the pretensioner, the B-pillar trim and the insulation behind it.
- Engine block heater cable fire — a damaged splice connector lets moisture in and melts wiring. The engine electrical sections document the block heater circuit and harness routing.
- Driveshaft damper displacement — the harmonic damper can shift, unbalance the shaft and fracture it. The driveline sections cover the driveshaft, its damper, U-joints and centre bearing.
- Park system failure and rollaway — two separate campaigns, one on the park rod actuating plate and one on the transmission case casting. The transmission sections document the park pawl, park rod and detent lever.
- Turbocharger boost control faults — the P1247 limp-mode complaint on the 6.7L, usually calibration but sometimes a failed variable-geometry actuator. The turbocharger sections cover the VGT, its actuator and the resistance checks that separate the two.

Frequently asked questions
Does it cover the V10?
Yes — the 6.8L V10 is documented alongside the 6.7L diesel and the 6.2L gas V8.
Does it cover F-450 and F-550 chassis cabs?
Yes. The whole F-250 to F-550 range is documented as one platform.

Are wiring diagrams included?
Yes, along with extensive connector identification.
Which years does it fit?
2017, 2018 and 2019.
