About the 2016–2019 Explorer

These are the final four years of the fifth-generation Explorer, after the 2016 facelift brought the new nose and swapped the 2.0L EcoBoost for the 2.3L. It is the last front-drive-based Explorer — from 2020 Ford moved the whole vehicle onto a rear-drive platform — so this generation stands on its own mechanically, and a 2020 manual will not help you with one.
