Description
The complete factory service and repair manual for the 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 Ford Edge — 8,818 searchable pages across 88 numbered factory service sections, plus a dedicated 123 MB wiring diagram volume, delivered as an instant download.
About the 2015–2018 Edge
The second-generation Edge moved onto the CD4 platform with a substantially new engine range: the 2.0L EcoBoost as the volume engine, the 3.5L V6, and the 2.7L EcoBoost twin-turbo in the Sport. These four model years share that line-up and the six-speed transaxles behind it; the 2019 update brought the eight-speed, which is where this manual’s coverage ends.

What’s inside
88 factory sections running from 100-00 general information through to 502-00 body repair: engine mechanical and management for all three engines, the transaxles, the all-wheel-drive system and power transfer unit, brakes with anti-lock and stability control, steering and suspension, climate control, restraints, emissions, and the full body group. Electrical work gets its own volume — a complete wiring diagram set rather than diagrams scattered through the text.
Common issues this manual helps you tackle
- 2.0L EcoBoost coolant intrusion — the defining problem on this engine: coolant works past the head sealing area into the cylinders, giving low coolant with no visible leak, white smoke and misfires. Ford’s diagnostic procedure is a cooling-system pressure test held for hours followed by a borescope inspection, and the engine and cooling sections carry both.
- Brake hose rupture — two separate recalls, one on the front flexible hoses and one on a rear jounce hose. The brake sections document the hoses, their routing and the full bleed procedure.
- Shift cable bushing failure — a degraded bushing can leave the car in a different gear than the indicator shows, including not actually in Park. The external transmission controls section covers the cable, the selector lever and the bushing.
- Torque converter weld stud failure — recalled on 2017–2018 cars with the 2.0L and six-speed, causing total loss of drive. The transaxle sections document the converter, the flexplate and the removal procedure.
- 2.7L EcoBoost oil pan leak — the plastic oil pan’s sealant does not hold, and the correct repair fits a revised pan with a press-in-place gasket. The engine lubrication sections carry the pan, the oil pump seal and the torque sequence.
- Power transfer unit failure on all-wheel drive — the sealed PTU sits next to the exhaust and cooks its own fluid, ending in whine, shudder and a burnt gear oil smell. The driveline sections document the unit, its seals and its service.

Frequently asked questions
Are wiring diagrams included?
Yes — as a complete standalone wiring diagram volume, not a handful of circuits inside the workshop text.
Does it cover the Edge Sport?
Yes. The 2.7L EcoBoost V6 has its own engine and fuel-charging sections.
Will it fit a 2019 Edge?
No. 2019 brought the eight-speed transaxle and a revised range, so this manual stops at 2018.
Is the Lincoln MKX covered?
This is the Ford Edge manual. The MKX shares much of its engineering, but the documentation here is written for the Edge.
Which years does it fit?
2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
